Marie Antoinette and her influence on fashion

She was a trend setter, she had a personal dressmaker, she loved bows, big hair, jewelry, shoes , ribbons. She also loved the simple look and plainer fabrics as she matured.

The above photos are John Galliano's collection 2010-- doesn't this scream Marie Antoinette?

All these years go by and we still emulate her style. Who says fashion isn't important, historical, political? Style stays with us. Help the slow economy-- buy something that makes you feel like Marie Antoinette!

Have a PINK day!

  1. Those are beautiful. It's interesting to note that Marie Antoinette credited with the quote, "There is nothing new except what has been forgotten."
