Pink Saturday and pink treasures

I really enjoy Ebay so easy usually many choices and delivered to you. How great is that? I purchased the pink trinket box recently and the little carriage. If I ruled the world ( ha) this is what I would ride around in!!

I've shown you my pink strange plant from Philippines ( medinilla) already but I moved it to the inside of the bird cage and adored it with lights.

I am decorating the house this weekend for the holidays so check back during the week for new posts.

French chairs

I adore French-style chairs and French furniture in general. However, a chair just somehow seems more personal to me, I always feel that a chair calls out to you. 

Chairs are like little punctuation marks in designing a room. A cute chair can add a lot of drama or pizzazz. I especially like ones with bows carved into the frame.I'm trying to recall what makes me love the French style so much and I think I watched a lot of old movies as a kid and  many had French interiors. 

My favorite all time chair is  in a museum somewhere it is heart shaped cane-backed Louis chair designed by Madame de Pompadour.

Zac Posen

I am in love with Zac Posen's clothing at this moment. It has elements I love, a feel of tutu, corset, floating fabrics, and details that are simple yet stunning. How could anyone not feel beautiful and have a wonderful time wearing any of these dresses? I believe the white dress is a wedding dress or could be with the addition of a few accessories a stunning bridal gown..

White for Pinkmas

Even though I am totally into pink I also love white. Love doing all white pearls and swans on the mantel in master bedroom and lots of white pearls and white lights on one in formal living room.I added the white feathered wings to the master bedroom this year.

My Marie Antoinette tree is also all white with some pink and silver and the big swan in the sleigh that holds gifts by my huge swan tree is also a touch of white. White makes everything pop and feel light and fresh,

Bow mania fashions and fancies

My obsession with bows continues Bows have always played a large part in my wardrobe and in decorating things--packages, trees, pillows. I most often wear a simpler silhouette but bows do sneak in on accessories or party dresses.

Bows seem to suit everyone at the moment even sweet French bulldogs!

Here we go again.. china obsession....

Bonjour dear blog friends.

 I found these images of luscious china on Pinterest. Does anyone know who makes it? It said Studio Dolce under it but when I look that up I find nothing related to china.

I have to find a way to use all this china I have amassed. I do use it quite a bit but maybe I will start giving private teas for showers in my home. It would also be fun, I think, to do that. Hard part is if I do it will be starting out getting people to book one initially.

Anyway, if anyone has any clue about this lovely pattern please leave me a comment.

Snowing in Paris. . .

Oh why does Laduree keep coming up with these wonderful objects? Am I the only American who wants to move to Paris just for pastry and Laduree treasures? 

My bank balance decreases each time they have something like this. I need a job to support my " Laduree habit"!

This will be out in early December I think in the Paris shops not sure about other locations and our NY Laduree does not ship so no help there. If anyone is going to Paris soon let me know and I will send you a check to pick this up for me. I have searched for a pretty one made here and they are all tacky looking. La Tour Eiffel looks so wonderful in this rendition!

Voila I have found my weird pink plant

This most unusual plant caught my eye over 20 years ago . I saw it in a greenhouse on an estate in Ohio. I copied down the name and looked for it and no one knew anything about it. Then a few months ago I am in our local nursery Pike Nursery and there it was for sale. The blooms last about 3-5 months and it likes warm and dry conditions. I am never very good with house plants so cross your fingers that I don't kill the pretty plant. Now they are grown in CA. and the name is Medinilla. They are only in pink as far as I know.

I am not sure what plant family it comes from but I believe it comes from the Philippines . It needs a lot of bright light. I will have to research it further. I have tied my blooms up to a stick so we can enjoy them.You just never know where your quest for pinkness will lead.

Objects of desire

Maybe Santa will bring me  these? I love monogramming and Number 411 shop in Savannah does wonderful linen napkins and will monogram with your own or one of their monograms. YSL lipstick is always a treat in that pretty packaging and J Crew has a new heart charm bracelet that I covet. I must leave good cookies for Santa this year he has been awfully good to me.

I found this lovely sign on Pinterest and wonder who makes it I have tried tracing it back but so far no luck.

Does anyone know who creates this type of sign? I am painting my kitchen and trying to make it look like a pastry shop.

Poppies

Pink poppies make my heart sing!  I try every year to grow them in my sunny garden. I have tried plants and seeds to no avail. Does anyone know any poppy magic? If you do please tell me I would love to have these grace my garden.I also love the ruffly ones that look like peonies.

J'adore Jane Austen and reading

 Love love love to read

Reading is a passion of mine. I love reading on a Kindle and reading regular books. Since I adore Jane Austen I think I should save up and buy this set of PINK Jane Austen novels. They would fit in perfectly in my boudoir.I return to her works again and again. Men should read them and pay attention to the male heroes in her novels and  learn a thing or two about manners and how to court a lady.

One of my favorite books is Tea with Jane Austen by Kim Wilson( Amazon) full of fun facts and tea information.

Monogram of Marie Antoinette and her birthday

Happy Birthday Marie Antoinette

My new bed linens from Number 411 in Savannah

November 2,1755 is the birthday of Marie Antoinette rather than focus on her sad fate today I would rather look at something fun and beautiful about her life.

Marie Antoinette had such a pretty monogram I had to "borrow" it for myself. I have so many things with this monogram but oddly enough I had not done the most common or traditional thing-- add it to my bed linens! Monograms, I understand, were a way of marking who owned what linen and silver and other items. They were a practical thing that became artwork. In  the case of royality like Marie Antoinette she really had fun with her monogram, it is on the stairway in the Petit Trianon,
