Garden tour

The Douglasville Hydrangea Festival and garden tour is always fun. Some highlights for me are the roses and the clever use of objects in the gardens. I couldn't get enough of the pink roses on the white fence and arbor. These garden tours are always a highlight of spring time for me.

You always pick up a few good tips or learn about a new plant. More on that later. I loved the garden art the last photo of the empty wine bottles hung on the patio. I hope each bottle was drunk with good friends.

Pinkmas touches in master bedroom

Making things merry and bright and pink in the master bedroom. I love to turn the twinkle lights on and just sit in there and enjoy all the pretties. I add something each year. And Costco roses with some cranberries in the vase made a pretty bedside table arrangement.

Atlanta Garden for Connoisseurs tour

Just a few shots of the tour gardens yesterday. We go every year to the Atlanta Botanical Garden's Gardens for Connoisseurs tour it never disappoints. Always some show stoppers and various sizes of gardens. They were all so lovely this year hard to choose a favorite.

Roses of Paris
Paris is a very rosey city! When I got home and looked at all the photos I took I realized how many had roses (pink ususally) in them. This is not counting the actual photos I snapped of roses in containers outside floral shops. Just a few samples above to prove my point.

I love the iron roses on the gate! What a visual treat that is. I forget where that photo came from I think I found it on tumblr.

Days of wine and roses

The rose buds are getting fat!! I hope they are in bloom in later part of May when I have company. I envision sitting outside in garden with my friends and having glass of wine or champagne and bringing my new wine rack outside along with the glasses and cooler.Maybe I could put rose petals in the glasses!!

I worked today on the new/old wine rack I bought last week at flea market shop.

I started by cleaning it with damp cloth, then painted it with pink latex paint I had left over from master bedroom. It looked very pink even though I didn't cover it all in pink. Then today I took it outside and spray painted it with a flat white paint so just a hint of pink now shows.

Just a bagatelle Madam

The Comete d'Artois built this lovely structure on a bet with his close friend and sister-in -law Marie Antoinette. In just 63 days from start to finish it was up and a perfect little jewel. It cost 2 million livres in 1778/ I bet that is about 10 million now.

When I was there last ( it is in the Bois de Boulogne) it was rose blooming time and the park was filled with roses. A very prestigious rose festival is held there also.

It is amazing to see the structure-- it was spared during the Revolution for some reason what a blessing that was!
