Tutorial Three Tier Wire Herb Planter

I had the wire planter( from Home Goods last spring) and was inspired by one I saw on the Madison Tour of Homes
First I lined the tiered baskets with moss, then some paper towel to keep the soil from falling out.
Pink Boy helped me plant all the herbs.

I thought it would be cute to put mint and pink calibrachoa on the top tier.
When fall comes I will move my herb garden inside to the kitchen counter. Right now it is under our patio arbor so it gets just filtered sun. I use herbs a lot in cooking and I planted them in with some of the flowers in the beds and in the potager garden in the back.
I planted curry, rosemary, French tarragon, varigated basil, cat mint, thyme, tricolor sage and oregano.

Spring tour time Madison Ga

Madison, Georgia had the annual spring tour last weekend. It is wonderful old period homes restored and wonderful gardens. It is just fun to visit Madison anytime and walk the streets in the historic area. The town square is so charming and there are some nice restaurants and shops to visit too. I've done posts about Madison before.
This is just one large garden that was on the tour. I will share more photos tomorrow.

Pretty Boy candy dish

I found this fellow on EBay. It is Dresden or Meisen not too old. He is a serving dish. I enjoy these whimsical pieces. I keep finding men and would love to have a lady one like this. He is pink and blue.

Why not have some whimsey in your decorating?

Peony time and peony scent from L'Occitane

                                                          The shimmer powder so girly!
Most of you know how I adore peonies. I live for the peonies opening in my garden. Sadly, this spring with the cold snap then the higher than normal temperatures has resulted in less than stellar peony bloom. Ah, such is life.
L'Occitane makes a peony scent and they just came out with a new one more subtle soft and I prefer it to the older one. The new one is aptly named Pivonine Delicate.
The packaging is so chic and pretty and I had to buy the powder that you spritz on with the pink atomiser --and it has a bit of shimmer! It will look good on tan or pale skin. So I leave you with some photos of the new peony scented items. The little tube is scent roll on on  one end and lip gloss on the other!
Those French are so clever!

Pink inwell-- last one and peonies

Happy Pink Saturday! Join Beverly at:
http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/

Well my inkwell obsession is ongoing. But I must stop-- running out of places to put them in my small home. This is the final purchase ( at least for a long time) so dainty and pretty. It is Dresden or Limoges I believe. Not too expensive I collect only what I find pleasing. What a more gracious world it used to be. A time when people took the time to sit down and write letters and thank you notes.

I cut some peonies and mock orange from my garden to show you too.
