Well my inkwell obsession is ongoing. But I must stop-- running out of places to put them in my small home. This is the final purchase ( at least for a long time) so dainty and pretty. It is Dresden or Limoges I believe. Not too expensive I collect only what I find pleasing. What a more gracious world it used to be. A time when people took the time to sit down and write letters and thank you notes.
I cut some peonies and mock orange from my garden to show you too.
Have a Pink day!
I like your taste in collecting things.
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty inkwell! This past Christmas, one of the things my 12-year-old daughter really wanted (and received!) was an inkwell and quill pen. She uses them all the time to write letters to her over TWENTY pen pals!! She's got pen pals of all ages..I think that is so awesome! I wish I had the time!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely weekend!

I adore your collection of inkwells..we just dont see them here in Australia...well not the pretty ones and if they do exist they must be way out of my price range lol. And peonies dont like our climate so I miss out on those also. But I love all the photos everyone puts up of them.

You are sharing truly a lovely one!! The floral work is breathe taking and the gold gild perfect touch.
ReplyDeleteI too am a collector of inkwells .. there is just something about them that capture's my heart; perhaps it's the writer in me and knowing that in a time long ago this was the only option to pen words to paper. Today even with all the technology I still prefer to keep in touch via handwritten letters, cards, and notes. That is one of the reasons I started BlogLand Pen Friends ... http://attitudeivlife.blogspot.ca/p/blogland-pen-pals.html it would be wonderful to have you participate... xo Wishing you a lovely week-end..xo HHL
Oh My, what a pretty inkwell and you can almost smell those blossoms right thru the screen!!
