Pink swans

 Pink swans!!!
It really is very hard to be good and not buy things when they come as a double whammy of things I adore PINK and A SWAN. Now come on,  how could I not want them? At least they were not expensive.
Swans make me so happy, as does the color pink.My own brand of double  happiness.

Meissen swans

Meissen swans are a thing of beauty . Sometimes it is just a swan figurine or it is a candle holder, cache pot or desk accessory. All are lovely and nowadays very expensive.

Textile art swan

I just adore this image I found on line. I believe it is the work of the person who has the blog Lovely Textiiles-- a UK blogger. I wonder if I could try to make this? It is soooo pretty. Swan obsession continues I find so many lovely swan things. Some are way beyond my budget-- silver swan centerpieces, huge swan planters etc Marie Antoinette had swans at her little farm and they still have swans at Versailles.

Swan jewelry

My obsession with swans, and I admit it is an obsession, extends to swan jewelry and head wear, swan down powder puffs, tutus that look like swans, swan boats and sleighs and swan toys and ornaments.
All these wonderful pieces( except the last charm) are on the 1st Dibs web site and all are stunning!
I just ordered a book about swans and I am seriously thinking of petitioning my subdivision to allow swans on our lake and I could care and tame them. I had tame swans before.
Oh what a wonderful world it is when you have swans and pink and peonies and pastries and ribbons and pets and love in it!!

Swan tureen- still a dream

Still obsessed with swans and still searching for a large swan tureen. If anyone sees one similar to the last photo please email me. Email is in my profile.
I started looking on line and found the Meissen swan tureen at 1st Dibbs way, way out of my price range others similar to it in museums! The last one I believe was made in Italy and  Yvonne at Stone Gable blog owns it. It is very large and dramatic. Just want I want.
Check out her tablescapes link below:
And Marty at A Stroll thru Life blog for tabletop Tuesday
So sweet pink readers keep an eye out for one for me if you can.

Odette tutu one of my treasures!

I think I mentioned before that I have a real ballet tutu made by the costume designer of the former Cleveland Ballet. When I lived in Ohio I had her make me a real tutu that I wore to a costume party and to hand out treats.

Now that I have a dressmaker form I decided to find my tutu and put it out in master bedroom where I can enjoy it for awhile. I thought I lost the top part --it ended up in another closet from the bottom part.

I was too thin when I had this made ( due to dental surgery I couldn't eat or drink well for about 6 months) and it doesn't even fit a small dressmaker form!! I had to pin top on with a huge gap in the back. I think I was only 98 lbs then. Yikes!

Most people never see one up close- there are two pieces to the bottom -a mesh pantie attached to the layers of tutu. Best way I find to clean is to immerse the bottom of it in bathtub water with mild mild soap and air dry. The top is a corset really boned and very tight even when I was thinner!

I was supposed to be Odette in Swan Lake so all white. I picture myself soaring up in air on stage! ha It is a fantasy.

Swans in Pink Girl's life

I found this cute ornament at the Swan Coach House in Atlanta's Buckhead area. Swan Coach House is the gift shop and restaurant on the grounds of the Atlanta Historical Society. I love touring the Swan House ( Italianate home from 1920's) and the pretty gardens and then shopping at the Swan Coach House.

I can't wait to use this ornament till Christmas so I am putting her in my armoire where I will see her . I have a lot of swan ornaments and always on lookout for pretty ones.

Just another one of my passions-swans and swan items. I also loved it that there were swans at Petit Hameau at Versailles!
