Something new for the tree

An ornament I made for tree this year of lace and ribbons, leftover silk from draperies. Always fun to add new holiday decor to freshen things up
I hate to sew so I usually make things using glue.
This tussie went on my biggest tree the swan tree.

Pink and green door swag Merry Pinkmas!

Once again, only more so, I am doing a mainly pink Christmas- -wrapping in pink papers, ornaments on 4 of our trees are mainly pink and I have decided to call it all Merry Pinkmas!!

I just made my door wreath with some fresh greens from the nursery. Since all my indoor trees are artificial I use fresh greens on the fireplaces and outside door. Just love that scent of the season.
It is PINK Saturday again please go to Beverly's How Sweet the Sound blog to see other pink posts.http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/
I will be posting a lot of Christmas decorations/trees all month long so check back. My blog is very pink almost all of the time!
Using my glue gun I simply glued the ornaments to the swag and to each other. I took 2 swags and placed one atop the other and wired them together to get a very full swag. I hung a huge drapery tassel behind my pink and green creation and made some paper embellishments on my printer on pink paper, of course, using song titles and sheet music that have pink in the title. This took about 45 minutes to put together. Much more fun than sitting on the sofa watching junk on TV.

What is it?

Any guesses? It is PINK and I love it and you can see it too (if you live in metro Atlanta) and it is very Christmas oriented?

Check tomorrow's post for more photos . A clue-- Nicholas Kniel created it! Happy sleuthing

Holiday season is here

My favorite time of year!! Just a quick post today as I am putting up my trees and doing all kinds of fun holiday things. It will be a very pink holiday around here. Not all my trees are pink. I have one with an Asian feel and one that is just curly branches and chinoiserie like fish and the rest are pink!

So close your eyes and pretend you are in a winter wonderland of sugary snow and I will be back soon with pink posts.

Have a PINK day!

After Christmas blues...

Well they are here-those after Christmas blues-- time to start taking down my lovely pink Christmas. The dogs are even blue over it. They enjoyed opening their gifts and eating their holiday treats. Miss Moss ,our wonderful Maine Coon cat, is blue too no more looking up at her twinkle lights from under the tree!!

The thing that keeps me from sinking into after holiday despair is knowing that I will be adding more trees and some glitter houses next year. I have it all planned out already.

I will proudly hang my Mardi Gras door swag up as soon as I take down my Christmas swag.

I also was able to add the snow to my blog today. That was a real treat hope you like it--that I will leave on for a few days.

Happy New Year and may it be best ever for everyone- Pink dreams my friends!

How pink do you want to go?

Loving pink and being a bit obsessive and easily I have carried my love of this color to the extreme. I know that-- so I am not crazy-- right?

For me, using pink everyday objects just makes my daily life more fun. No one needs a pink potato peeler but Kitchen Aid makes a great one. I was so thrilled about 7-8 years ago when Kitchen Aid came out with all the pink items for breast cancer fundraising. I think I have every item. Hardest thing to find was the pink toaster.

I am probably the only person who goes to Europe or UK and brings back rolls of pink toilet paper- I bring back a lot to tide me over between trips. One customs agent really thought that was strange and really looked at it all -maybe he thought I had drugs inside the rolls?

Think of your favorite color and how it makes you feel--do you have items that you could buy in your favorite color? Life is so short and so stressful make yourself and others happy with simple things like color and good fragrances and organization in your home and work environment.
