Frippery

I love old fashioned words like frippery, lolly gaggle,pox, etc etc I could go on. Just a few images of what I would term lovely frippery. The bracelet is Chanel photo by Chanel.  So chic. The big ribbon work tassel or perhaps it is a purse is sooo fun!

It has been so hot here I hate extremes in temperature. I actually do not feel well when it is really hot or cold. So I have neglected the blog lately also my world is a bit boring at the moment! No trips planned, no parties to attend, no projects. I need projects to be happy!

Pink Chanel does it get any prettier than this?

Oh how I love Chanel and pink Chanel is even better. I love the makeup and the handbags and totes. These pink suits are my idea of heaven. How I wish I will find one someday at a consignment shop or vintage clothing boutique. I have several "Chanel style" jackets I would love one real one and it has to be pink or black or pink and black. Just dreaming of fun pinkness.

Choupette and White Wedneday

Karl Lagerfeld has a cat now. She just turned one and has had much media attention in the fashion press.

Choupette is the apple of Karl's eye and he even employees two maids ( a day and a night one) to care for her. She goes to the vet for check ups every ten days. He thinks her bad behavior is cute. In other words, he adores her. She likes to sleep on his vintage linens, eat at the table with him--she eats her own food but it up on the table. 

Everyone is surprised that he is such a doting father.  He is artist why wouldn't he love his kitten? Who knew Karl would be a "cat person"?

Karl I disagree...

I love Karl Lagerfeld-- his style, his designs, his many talents and I am amazed at how many languages he speaks.  I usually agree with his opinions on most things but on the subject  of swans I must disagree.

I have tamed swans, I have fed many swans and have never had a bad experience. In fact, one snowy day I fell on the slope to the pond and the swans came up out of the water and hovered over me making sure I was alright.

I think he must have encountered them while they were nesting. Male swans can be very violent and territorial when their are eggs in the nest.

Not even Karl can change my minds about swans. J'adore les cygnes Monsieur Lagerfeld.

Chanel dreams
Chanel is always in my dreams and I love to try and recreate the same style using other clothing. It would be lovely to walk into a Chanel boutique and buy a few things but my budget doesn't allow that right now. So I will be resourceful and create the "feel" of the look on my own. I will show the final version when I finish! Keep checking back.

Birthday wishes

So many of my favorite people are Leo's as am I. Pink Boy is a Leo and two in one house makes for some interesting situations. Both of us thinking "I am the boss" and some heated discussions ensue. Passion is a Leo's middle name. We have learned to share our passions. I fish a bit, he goes to the ballet and to Paris shops and lives in a very pink- girly home.

Birthday time is approaching. Pink Boy wants more days deep sea fishing in the Gulf. I want a speedy recovery from bunion surgery that is happening right before my birthday. We don't need a thing but we all dream of wishes or fantasy objects.The old what I would do if I won the lottery mindset.

My pink living makes me happy all the time and makes for many pretty occasions and projects.

The photo is from the Chanel News site and it was the center piece of the fashion show. Chanel News is a fun web site to follow. Again, I'm dreaming those dreams of Chanel bags and the pearl cuff. Hope all my Leo readers have a fun birthday and make it pink of course.

Paris here I come!!

My dream is coming true in June a week in Paris. I am already planning my outfits. I tend to dress up when traveling. No fanny pac or sneakers for me. I find you get better service if you are dressed a bit nicer. And I truly feel better when I am pulled together.

To make it easy I will probably take only items of clothing that are black or white. A few pairs of flats for walking and a pair of black jeans, skirts and a few dresses and a light jacket and black scarf to wear in restaurants if chilly.

I found the above jacket in Target-Zac Posen very stylist and a good weight for summer 49.99!

The cute heart bags for dinners out-they are rather small-- I found at BeBe and Urban Outfitters -- best of all my frugal friends--all under $30.00.

Hair bows and headbands are in and oh so Chanel and French style I found mine at Forever 21 and H& M. I love those stores for accessories. The black fabric cuff- so Chanel looking--was 4.00!! We all love a bargain and we love to mix high and low priced items. Style doesn't have to cost a fortune.
