Pink inkwell

Just when I thought I had all the inkwells I need I saw a very different one on EBay. 

This porcelain one is unusual as it has a base and the two little pots come out and have rose knobs. The third area in the center is washed in gold and I wonder what that area held?-- maybe sand not sure.

It is such a pretty little useful object. I love to look at it and wonder who else had the pleasure of using it.

It is not very old but it does remind me of something dear Queen Marie or Madame de Pompadour would use.

Dresden dream world

Dresden lace figurines are so pretty . I have collected a few. Some are beyond my budget but I love to look at them on Ebay and Ruby Lane. The life they depict is so nice-- people dancing, taking tea, playing musical instruments, flirting, I especially like the one above where they are being carried in a sedan chair--who wouldn't like that?

Vignettes in San Diego

I have been wanting to visit this shop for years now and finally I will be there soon!

Vignettes in the Ocean Beach Antique district of San Diego!! They had a big Valentine soiree party this [past weekend and I missed another great party. But I will visit when I am in S California soon.

Aren't the heart candy boxes wonderful. I could stay in there for hours looking around. 

They do a lot of themed parties and so far I wish I could have attended them all!!

Laduree hat box c'est magnifique!

To borrow a phrase from the Jabberwocky::" O frabjous day! Callooh Callay! "

A dream come true a pink, wonderful Laduree hat box arrived for me! I found out on my last visit to France that you can purchase just the empty hat boxes-- they come in lavender and pink. This one is stuffed with bath items and the new Laduree pop up book on decoration. That deserves a post by itself another day.

The pink hatbox will store precious mementos and later on sit under my Pinkmas tree. What a wonderful Valentine gift. Since our New York Laduree does not get all the non-food items and does not ship(aarrgh why not?) this treasure arrived via the Laduree in Cornhill , London. The sales team there is wonderful.and it only took 5 days to get to me from London!  I am enthralled by all the pretty pinkness.

 The Saga of my pink handbag search

I fell in love last year... with a Miu Miu handbag --very much a "lady bag" as in Ladies who Lunch all Upper East side style. It was only sold in Japan and on internet briefly in USA and by time I found it it was sold out. So the  search continued for a really pretty pink bag a paler pink bag if possible. I have looked at department stores, TJ MAXX,flea markets. It is not about the price for me at all the bag could be $30.00 as long as it has the look I like. I saw these Marc Jacobs bags and one from a company in UK almost there not quite It!

Well, I decided to look on line again a few days ago and Kate Spade must have heard me fussing last year about that pink bag because she has one coming out in pale pink and very much the look I like. It is my splurge for the spring. I will carry it on Easter I am sure.

Dreaming of a pink garden

This is the hard time of year for gardeners . We want spring to spring ahead right after Christmas! I dream of all the pink blooms that I hope will pop up this year. I planted poppies, foxgloves, more peonies, and iris.

Pink magnolias are one of first spring trees to flower and then my redbud, which is pink, will come along.

Right now I am lucky to pink camellias and pink almond trees in bloom. Are you dreaming of pink for your garden?
