First peony bouquet

May means peony time and I am always so delighted to gather some for the first bouquet of the season.

Do Tell is one of my favorites and it opens early. It also has a rose scent! The others are Nick Shaylor and Dresden pink with some flowering kolkwitzia  thrown in. I always place one of my nightstand and one in the hall.

I adore peonies and keep planting more. I am lucky that they are doing so well here in hot Atlanta area.

French clocks are so beautiful

This is a "new to us" clock we bid on on EBay. It came from UK but it is a French clock. It chimes and works but the French clocks are delicate so we have it at a clock repair to fine tune the time. It is a simple mechanism that has not changed in over 100 years. Louis XVI loved to tinker with clocks and locks and blacksmith. This is an extremely feminine clock so it goes on the mantel in master bedroom.

I love the Sevres porcelain face and the delicate hands.

Happy Birf me!!

No, I am not losing it! Today is my birthday and I love my birthday. I like that it usually rains on my birthday and I like opening gifts and eating cakey. This year I hope I get a lemon cakey from a bakery in Atlanta. They only make it during the summer. It is sinfully good.

I read somewhere years ago about a little boy who sang to himself on his birthday. He was very young and all he could really say was "Happy birf me!" and that says it all. So now that is what I sing and no matter how old I will live to be I will sing my little "Happy birf me" song, because life is a gift and I am grateful for every day and I have so many, many blessings and my pink life is a very happy life.
