Vintage jewelry and the long hot summer

Bonjour !!
I think that this is the longest break I have taken from blogging.
My laptop is dying and it is no fun to be on it. It has been sooo hot here and humid too. I really am not a fan of summer in the South.
I've been reading and collecting vintage jewelry.
I have long ago given up on Pink Boy buying me nice jewelry he just doesn't get it or care about it So now that I work part time I am purchasing my own jewelry. If I can manage on this laptop I will show you more things in next week or so.
Have a Pink day!

Aristocats

I love this Disney movie and especially adore Marie-- when I was a kid I thought they named her after me! Since I am a cat lover and love Paris why wouldn't I love the movie all my favorite things all in one movie!
I bought the cute tote on Ebay it will be here in a few weeks. Japan Disney store has more Marie merchandise than the Disney stores in UK or USA.
Do you love Marie?

Charleston... a city set in a garden weathering the tragedy

It is so doubly shocking that this carnage happened in Charleston -- a beautiful, gracious city full of wonderful people and community. A city that is really very safe and where people know each other.
The city and it religious and secular leaders have handled the situation well and everyone seems to be of one mind that this aberration, this purely evil event will not tear apart the people of the most beautiful city in the South.
While my heart grieves for the lives lost and the lives ruined by this unconscionable act my heart also sees the strength and dignity and love that the people there have for each other and for the city. Mayor Riley handled things well and now it is time for healing to begin.
Evil does not trump true faith, true love, true goodness of spirit or true community.

Blush pink gems

I have been on a quest for a blush pink sapphire that is cut in marquise cut about 2 carets. So far neither my jeweler or I have found right shade or shape of stone.I researched more and discovered Morganite which is even better color wise more pale blush like I like and should work well . It is also very hard stone so can wear everyday. I am careful with my jewelry.

Taking a break from blog for this week just had surgery and resting and sleeping and watching movies. Pink Boy is taking good care of me. Making me food and giving me medications on time. Not really in any pain.

A question for you leave me a comment if you have answer:

Anyone had any Morganite stones in your jewelry? Were you happy with it?

Cats are brushing up on reading skills

 Souffle encourages Armand to read
We have to read this?

Souffle reads a bit then thinks deeply.

Snowflake is not too keen on her lessons
Always complaining she is a scamp
Lesson time
My cats need to keep up their language skills. They are so spoiled I insist they do their lessons.

I am so small and this is sooo tall

We now have four Bourke's parakeets the quiet grassland birds from Australia. These were bred here in USA. I couldn't find any Bourke's breeders in Georgia or any surrounds states so I had to fly these in on Delta Dash. They are a matched pair so my friend named them Delta and Dash! Delta is the pink and yellow one. We hope to make little Bourkie babies one day to sell. I think 4 in this cage is perfect. Another Mother's Day present from Pink Boy. the aviary is heavy it is in three pieces and is easy to clean.
Bourke's are sweet quiet birds who chirp and fly at dawn and dusk.
Delta and Dash join my other two Bourke's Rosy Bourke's Cici and Chanel-- 2 females! So far no female fighting over Dash .
Armand loves to watch the birds he just cant figure out how to get high enough. What a sweet boy he is so quiet and calm. He is a shaded silver Persian from a lovely local Persian breeder.

Mothers day in my pink world

Mother's Day usually finds us on the Atlanta Botanical Gardens tour of private gardens and this year was no different. We had a near perfect day for garden viewing,
My peonies are in bloom so I have been feeling very happy to be able to cut so many to make small arrangements inside.
New birds arrived to live in the new aviary which I will post soon. The  cats and dogs saved up and bought Mama some rose body lotion from Laduree in Japan. They had to plan ahead since things take a few weeks to arrive from Japan.
Hope your Mother's Day was wonderful
