Les Adieux a la Reine or Farewell my Queen

Farewell My Queen is out now in the USA. It is from the book of same title by Chantal Thomas.
I have been waiting to see it. Atlanta does not have it in theaters locally only one showing far away about  an hour or more drive. So now I will wait for it to appear on DVD at Amazon  or Netflix.
I think I will enjoy it as it is told from the servant's point of view. I hear it alludes to a lesbian relationship but I really do not think that is a historical fact that can be documented in any clear way. But it helps sell a movie and offers something different or whispers about it.
So for me, I am still waiting to see Farewell  My Queen  If you have seen it drop me an email or a comment on what you thought!

More fans that I adore

I really think we should revive the folding fan sort of like Karl Lagerfeld did a few years ago. If you think about it a bit it is the "green" way to keep cool!

The fan above is another one from Viven (see yesterday's post) and so lovely. I just love all the fans in the Marie Antoinette movie and love this scene where they are so much a part of the action shall we say!

Speaking of elephants...

I have elephants on the brain since yesterday's post. I do love them so. I watch each Public Television special they make on elephants and even have some on DVD and cry through most of it because of poaching and baby elephants dying in mud --very emotional for me.
Here is a question for you-lets see how much you recall of recent Marie Antoinette movie by Sophia Coppola. Is there an elephant in it? YES!! So my dear Marie Antoinette probably liked them also I like to think she would. They are beautiful.

But on a happier note -- I got this cute metal watering can for watering my patio plants the other day in the shape of elephant. Isn't it fun! That is all part of my pink living philosophy : make even the most mundane tasks fun and attractive and then the time flies by, you don't dread those tasks, life is much prettier, a visual lift make simple objects work for you in an artistic or attractive way. I still believe one reason I am such a happy person is I surround myself (as much as my budget allows) with beauty and happy things and happy thoughts naturally follow. It is not complicated but it works for me!
