Midnight in Paris

I just saw this funny, sweet, charming, beautifully composed movie last night. It is a love letter to Paris, a comedy, and also a short course in American writers and French artists of the 1920's. It is also a bit deeper than that but I wont spoil the fun.

If you have been to Paris this film makes you want to go back and if you have never been this film should make you want to visit.

Woody Allen wrote and directed and shot the entire film in Paris this really comes across on the screen as Paris not some fake back lot set. Owen Wilson is perfect as Gil the struggling novelest and Kathy Bates is spot on as Gertrude Stein.
