Chinoiserie pumpkin from Martha Stewart

Happy Halloween!
Martha Stewart had this Chinese dragon on her web site. It won her pumpkin contest. It has 10 pumpkins and 400 toothpicks and took footballmom3 52 hours to create.
We are getting ready to scare the neighbor children with our costumes so

French yum

The French word for yum is Miam and it seems there is a pastry shop by that name in Paris. I will have to check it out next year when I am there. Pink Boy has said we will go for sure in 2013. Life is too short not to travel while you are healthy and can walk a lot!
So till I can sample all the macaron and pastries at Laduree and Miam and Pierre Herme I must console myself with these lovely photos.

Pink macaron and pink kisses

I love the little bags of pink meringues from Laduree--I used to call those kisses not sure what the French call them. I love pink macaron and Laduree and Pierre Herme always have new flavors/parfumes to go with the change of seasons.
The last photo is one I found on flickr just such a pretty color I wonder if those are rose flavor? I do like rose flavorings and often add rose to creme brulee or iced teas. Join in on Pink Saturday at:

French armoire is here

My linen armoire arrived this past week early! They shipped it from UK air freight. They packed it very well and it is very well made. I bought it on-line from the French Bedroom Company website.
It is a reproduction I will use it for china storage and table linens. I made inside cover over the mesh using just a glue gun and scissors.  Pink Boy used copper tubing to hold the fabric panels he made the drapery rod. It is slightly curved and a dowel rod didn't look proper. I feel so organized now. And now all my table linens are in one spot. No running all over looking for place mats or napkins. Storage should be pretty.

Trinket tray storage

Pretty storage, especially if it is in plain sight, is essential. I am enjoying the last dahlia of summer and my new vintage tray I found in a Madison, GA. shop. Always fun to add new things to the dressing table area.

Objects of desire continued

Found these lovelies on First Dibbs! I just adore pearls especially pearl bracelets. The bracelet is Cartier. I have a bee pin ( Joan Rivers) very cute this one is all gold and I am sure well made. I love older pieces they seem to have more substance to them somehow. Both are classics.
Always fun to look and dream

Pink Pumpkins--so chic

Halloween is always fun in my pink life. And this year Kroger has pink pumpkins! They are a soft coral pink and are sold as PINK with proceeds going to breast cancer research.
Now there is no reason for not having a Pink Halloween. Boo

These are on my wish list for Christmas. Pink Boy may just amaze me  indulge my love of pearls.
I just got an Iphone and got a pearl covered case for it. A girl can never have too many pearls.

Anna Karinina

The epic novel comes to theatres in November. I love Keira Knightley and the production values of this movie look extravagant and authentic. Something to look forward to during the grey days of November.
I reread this novel every few years and always enjoy it and discover something new. Many authors consider Anna Karinina to be the perfect novel and the first " modern novel". It appeared in 8 magazine installments which is amazing considering the length and complexity of the work.
Something to dream about till November.

Show and Tell Friday Tick Tock a French clock

Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home:
Pink Boy bought this for me for Valentine's day. It was shipped from UK. It worked for a week and then stopped. No one seems able to repair the little spring inside.
It is French with a pink Sevres porcelain face about 1880's the dealer said. It chimes when it works. I may still take i to another repair person. It is in the master bedroom. I love to pretend I am in France in 1770-90's and my bedroom is a good place since I have so much pink, and French pieces in there.

Swan tureen- still a dream

Still obsessed with swans and still searching for a large swan tureen. If anyone sees one similar to the last photo please email me. Email is in my profile.
I started looking on line and found the Meissen swan tureen at 1st Dibbs way, way out of my price range others similar to it in museums! The last one I believe was made in Italy and  Yvonne at Stone Gable blog owns it. It is very large and dramatic. Just want I want.
Check out her tablescapes link below:

So sweet pink readers keep an eye out for one for me if you can.

Piggy in the Potager

Hope you are having a fun Friday and joining in on Show and Tell Friday at:
 My Romantic Home:
Many of you know I built a French potager style garden a few years ago on some unused land between the home in back of us and our home. I love my potager it is cute and functional.
I have flowers planted in the center of each plot. They are 6 x 9 feet I think . I can reach everything easily.
In the fall I put ornamental cabbages in the corners and plant a second set of cool weather crops- lettuces and radish mainly and herbs.
I found this cute piggy at Boxwoods in Atlanta and scooped him up! He can watch over my potager.
