Floating in white for White Wednesday

In my mind swans and ballet are linked. I always think the ballerina's look like swans. Cool and serene on top white their legs carry them across the stage in a sort of glide or slow leap. Tutus look like layered feathers to me. Perhaps each swan was a former dancer in another life?

I am already buying more Christmas decorations and of course they are pink. I have a few pink things to share with you as we get closer to the holidays. These pink birds caught my eye and I set them out to enjoy before I put up the trees.

If you are a long time reader of my blog you know how pink it gets at our house for Christmas. It will be ever pinker this year! Some big and some small things pink coming our way. I can't wait to show you. Pink Boy has been so busy helping me with my pink projects. I have the ideas and he has the muscle and skills to execute them.

The roses are from Costco they have the best roses always so fresh, inexpensive and you get 18 usually instead of 12. They usually last a week!

Pagoda mirror in pink front room

I think it works well with my cherry blossom scroll

Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home!

http://romantichome.blogspot.com/

This is one of our latest purchases from local antiques shop . Pink Boy found it.

Our other mirror that used to hang there came crashing down one day after being up for 13 years!

J'adore pagodas I think it is perfect. This is an extra living room area near the dining room. It will someday be a music room if I can ever find a small piano.I'd like a harp too.Marie Antoinette played the harp I think.

Pink Marie Antoinette for Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday and more Pinkness
My photos do not do the tiles justice so pretty!
Andrea at The Cottage Market at Etsy made these tiles for me! I am going to use them as coasters or trivets or just set them out in the kitchen. I love them. She does different sizes and was even able to copy my MA monogram.

Lace in iron

A planter of mine

Just a little bit of iron lace to look at today. I love metal twisted into pretty shapes. It is partly reason I think Paris so lovely--all those balconies and railings and stair railings in curved shapes. Take time to look for pretty details.

And on Friday for Show and Tell Cindy's blog:

This was last Thanksgiving at our home. We had fun and I used all my autum hued table top items from Home Goods and my French table linens in bright colors and a bunch of flowers from Publix for the centerpiece. Little Lola was allowed to say her prayer then banished from the table.

Shakespeare and Company Paris

Last time we were in Paris we went over to Notre Dame early one night and walked around it. That was fun. Then we dined at a good little bistro right next door to Shakespeare and Company bookshop. It is a famous book shop and you can get the details here:

http://shakespeareandcompany.com/

It was recently featured in the movie Midnight in Paris and on a late night talk show. I always want to go there when it is rainy in Paris or chilly. Nothing so comforting as sitting in a bookshop reading when rain falls outside.

Glorious autumn day

One of the cottages on the resort

Georgia has beautiful fall colors

I love going up to Adairsville it is only about 50 minutes from my house. We went up for a Sunday lunch. Walking around the resort after lunch was fun. Still some roses in bloom. The fall leaves are stunning. So crisp and sunny it was a perfect autumn day.

Chanel- biography

This is perfection

I think I have read just about every biography on Chanel. This one is, by far, the most comprehensive, has new material and great photos I had not seen before. It is an easy read and fun. She was a complex woman and an astute business person.

The necklace caught my eye. How I would love to have it recreated, with fake stones of course, it is a classic like so many things she created. She could think outside the box. There were reoccurring images in her life that she used maybe unconsciously and this book talks about that and I had never really learned that before. The famous CC logo --Picardie has several theories about that.Chanel by Justine Picardie read it!

We are dead ---Halloween fun

Don't we make a lovely dead couple?

Pink Boy and Pink Mom in Law

Bats and spiders and leaves and webs, spooky backdrop for fun

CorpCorpse groom

Another fun trick or treat night and lots of kids. We were corpse bride and groom, His mom a witch with her dog Lola a clown. Sydney-Marie is the only one of our pets that likes to dress up. She was corpse brides maid. We had music and lights and fog. I am already planning next year's costume.
