The dogs always enjoy opening their gifts. Each dog has taught the next dog how to do this. Lola , the Yorkie, was my Mom in law's dog and we have her now that his mom has passed away. Lola is into it the most as she really loves to play with toys. Sydney-Marie just likes to tear the tissue up not really thrilled with toys as much
Santa brought me a silver tea caddy with roses on it and garlands. It is an addition to my small but much loved tea caddy collection. Most of my tea caddies are old silver but I do have a few porcelain ones as well. How sweet of Santa to recall that I collect these and I use them as well. This one is my first square on made in Germany in 1890's.
Hope your Pinkmas was wonderful. Hope you had friends and family around and shared some laughs.
I actually squealed when I saw this cake! Sooooo Moi
Baking for Pinkmas!
I am going to try to make a buche de Noel cake I did make them in the past but this one that I saw on Bakingdom.com has captured my heart. So pink, so festive, so snowy!! I have to give it a shot. I even want to try the marzipan mushrooms and holly leaves. I think I will either do a white sponge cake or a lemon flavored sponge with lemon curd filling perhaps or white with the lemon curd filling. My desserts have to fit into my Pinkmas theme . If Marie Antoinette were here today she would want to eat this cake.
Does anyone have a tips to share on making this type of cake?
Swan Love If you have been reading my blog for any length of time you know of my swan obsession. I am always on the lookout for cute swan items whatever they may be.
I found all these treasures on Ebay . The glittery swan ornament I found in a local shop. It is a swan sleigh--oh how I wish I could make it people sized and sit it in and dash through the snow( if we had snow) it would be so fun!!
Two of my trees have swans on them the big tree is mainly swans, some ballet items, and a few pretty ornaments, It also has the swan topper on it. And my smaller white Marie Antoinette tree in master bedroom has these swan sleighs and little white swans on it. It just makes the holiday even more fun to scout out swan things I can use each year. In this hectic holiday madness seek some peace for yourself. Stop and breathe, look around and enjoy the simple things, have you really looked at your tree or your neighbor's twinkie lights? Enjoy them. Sometimes we rush around and miss what we should be enjoying. Swans always bring me to a peaceful state, looking at them, or feeding them or just enjoying a photo helps me find my serenity.
I hope you have something that helps you too.
Happy peaceful holiday season to you dear blog reader My wish for you is peace.
Everywhere I go I see pink. I do think it is more prevalent now than ever before. I hope it stays popular. I have loved pink since I was a toddler. I wore a lot of pink-- still do!
Find what makes you happy, do it, go towards it, hang out with people who are happy.
Life is too short to hate your job. You can change anything and make it better. For me, being positive and having a lot of pink around me makes me stay positive--it is a sort of perpetuating cycle pink equals happy happy equals pinkness. Ha
I'm just a girl from the South with an eye for pink and for pretty homes and gardens. I love to travel and I love France. I have lots of hobbies and love meeting new people. I love art, pastry making, ballet, reading, gardening, dancing and being with friends and with my dogs, cat and pink parakeets.
