Laduree speaks to me

The new dessert for Paris Design week and new pretty packaging.
I need to go to Laduree!
Two pink velvet meringue shells decorated with a rose petal and pulled sugar, a rose flavoured millefeuille cream, poached pear with rose and raspberry. For Paris Design Week. Images Laduree
They always manage to come up with something fresh and flavorful.
They are so creative with their packaging and their collaborations with artists and designers to partner for new desserts and or packaging.

Snowy Valentines day in Paris

Happy Valentines week! Doesn't Valentine Day in Paris sound wonderful? I bet it may snow, it may be cold so go to the new Angelina on rue de Bac for hot chocolate and a pink macaron.

Windows in Paris... look and linger awhile

Whenever I am in Paris I spend a lot of time window shopping-- trying to absorb the style and the creativity of their fabulous window displays! Their windows are so well planned- some simple and chic and others so full that you really have to study them.
When I am really homesick for Paris I look at my photos of the buildings and shop windows and take a mini mind holiday.

French yum

The French word for yum is Miam and it seems there is a pastry shop by that name in Paris. I will have to check it out next year when I am there. Pink Boy has said we will go for sure in 2013. Life is too short not to travel while you are healthy and can walk a lot!
So till I can sample all the macaron and pastries at Laduree and Miam and Pierre Herme I must console myself with these lovely photos.

Pink macaron and pink kisses

I love the little bags of pink meringues from Laduree--I used to call those kisses not sure what the French call them. I love pink macaron and Laduree and Pierre Herme always have new flavors/parfumes to go with the change of seasons.
The last photo is one I found on flickr just such a pretty color I wonder if those are rose flavor? I do like rose flavorings and often add rose to creme brulee or iced teas. Join in on Pink Saturday at:

Laduree for me!!

I adore Laduree  I adore everything about  it-- the pretty shop, the logo, the pastries, the food, the ribbons, the carriage vendor cart in the airport in Paris, the totes and the gift items.
Since I did not get to go to Paris this year I wanted to bring some Laduree to me!! Greedy Pink Girl!
Japan has several Laduree shops now and they often get things before other countries or different things. I bought these two Laduree scarfs and the little makeup tote from Japan. Things arrive quickly from Japan to US addresses. The swan scarf was  irresistible to me since I love swans so much and swans also remind me of ballet which I also love.
So until I can go to Laduree I had it come to me!

Laduree makeup !!

Rose petals as blusher

It may seem odd that Laduree has a new makeup line coming out but they have already done some limited make up at Sephora. I have learned that Laduree is a big presence in Japan and the line Les Merveilleuses du Laduree will launch January 29 in Tokyo at Mitswkoshi department store. How I wish I could be there!

Japan seems to get a lot of cute Laduree items that I do not see other places. Little wash cloths and tiny miniatures of the pastries etc.

The packaging is exquisite and fun there are over 20 different shades of blush, plus liquid foundation and lipsticks. The blush will come in several forms as rose petal leaves, in a cute cameo compact and a more traditional egg shaped blush. If you are lucky enough to purchase any of these pretty items don't throw away the packaging it may be worth something someday!

The makeup is made with the company Albion which is know for clever packages and high quality. The name of the line translates to the Wonders of Laduree but the word merveilleuses is a reference to the people who wore court makeup and were society or nobility back in Marie Antoinette's era.

We won't see the line in the USA until fall-- and since the New York Laduree does not ship I doubt most of us will see it then unless we get to NY. I hope they get it there.
