London cake shop calling

The talented Rosa Miller of London has created a Marie Antoinette cake. Her other cakes and macaron look lovely as well. A shop I must visit next time I am in London. How about you?
Also, Peggy Porschen Cakes is another must visit. She has a new book out Boutique Baking- that will have to do till I get to London.

Silver cake baskets

Silver cake baskets are a new discovery for me. I love all sorts of silver patterns and objects so pretty and so useful. Cake baskets became popular in late 1600''s through the Victorian era and some even into 20th century. I tend to like the ornate rococo style. I can think of many uses for a cake basket on a tea table beside holding cake.
They would work for small floral arrangements, to hold cards, small ones could perhaps hold candy.
Being a Southerner I find it hard to resist silver objects for the table.

Gifts should be a visual present

Use snowflakes and pins to adore your gifts
Ribbon with pearls and stars from Nicholas Kniel's shop
My favorite ribbon I am out. If you see it send me an email. It is dotted Swiss
 Repurposed macaron box
Ballerinas from Etsy shop Dream Peddler
 Nickolas Kniel velvet butterfly
 Paper and tag Paper Nosh

For me gift wrapping is a joyful task. I start early and take my time. I love using glitter and fake snow on the Pinkmas gifts. I find I like to use fabric ribbons more than regular package ribbons, It is fun to add little  decorations like ballet dancers and snowflakes.

Double faced satin ribbon is wonderful to work with and creates a soft and luxurious bow and feel. The main colors I use for my Pink holiday are silver, pink, white and sometimes gold accents. I search out paper for wrapping all year long and buy as much as I can of ones I like to create a stockpile as papers are most of the time not printed again.

is a great source for me for tags, and papers and cards. I took a macaron box and I glued an image on it and then sprayed pearled glitter on the whole thing. It came out well.
I use  the same boxes for awhile under the tree. So splurging a little on embellishments does not become too costly.
I found this dotted Swiss ribbon a few years ago and can't find it again. Love it since it makes full fluffy bows.
Nicholas Kniel's shop here in Atlanta is wonderful for finding that unusual add or. He has flowers and ribbons and little birds and butterflies made of fabric that I glue on bows or right onto a present.

Laduree delights

I would love to be able to order a Laduree Buche de Noel cake! This year they
offer these pretty Marie Antoinette inspired cakes and they more traditional ones as well.
Even some tea and sugared almonds in a pretty paper cornet would be lovely.
Someday I will be in Paris at Pinkmas time!

More Pinkmas photos

I had these ballet shoes and decided to make a back of the front door hanging decoration. Glue gun and glitter and a few minutes time and voila!
The tree is one I put out every year and just refresh with dried flowers from our garden.

King of the Nutcrackers

My nutcrackers have a new leader!
He is sooo handsome and large and has the entire Nutcracker ballet on his head!
It is a Kurt Adler nutcracker one of the Hollywood series after Holly Adler she designs them. I couldn't resist him.
I saw him on Pink in the City blog and called Macy's Herald Square store and they had sold out. Our local Macy's and on line did not have him.
Woe and despair.
Then my brain began functioning and I looked on Amazon and there he was waiting for me and almost $35 dollars less than the Macy's price!
He is very good leader all the other glitter and pastel nutcrackers recognized a leader right away!

Paris pink holiday windows

This very pink holiday window was from 2013. I'm sorry I missed it. I would have stood there for a long, long time gazing.
One of my goals is to be in Paris over the holiday season some year. I've been in Paris at least one time 3 of the 4 seasons. The domed ceiling of Galeries Lafayette is so lovely even more so during the season.
The pink window is soooo moi! All the pink things I love including desserts! The details are amazing.
French Christmas is lovely no matter what the color.

What Marie Antoinette wants for Christmas

 A limoges tea caddy?
 Snow fall on Christmas?
New beds for the royal chien?
 A new fan?
 A silver tea ball?
Rose macaron?
It is fun to image what she would desire for Christmas. Although in her time it was not such a gifting holiday.

Pinkmas tree oh Pinkmas tree how I love your beauty

Well, the tree is up and I am busy baking and wrapping and listening to holiday music.
This is my
favorite time of year. I love giving presents and wrapping presents. I have about 2 hours of wrapping time yet to go .
I do enjoy it so it flies by.
Some of the presents under the tree are faux ones I wrap study boxes and reuse them year after year I store the wrapped gifts in big plastic containers. I use those boxes for gifts for Pink Boy and me.
