Another reason why I think Paris is pinker than ever

The last time I went to Paris there were no pink postcards to send to friends at home. Now I find pink postcards at many places around the city! I loved sending them.Just adds weight to my theory that Paris is pinker! Pink is becoming more popular--maybe it has something to do with Barbie or Sex and the City movies and marketing? Who cares-- I am thrilled.

Pink nosed bunny !

We discovered a new place to look for treasures over the holiday weekend. It is in Alpharetta, Ga. on 670 N Main Street and it is Queen of Hearts Antiques . Over 200 dealers in one spot. I found this cute tin bunny watering can there . I could not resist the pink nose! It is huge about 24 inches tall. Prices are reasonable and lots to look at and the people are very friendly. I heard about it from the blog Between Naps on the Porch she is another Marietta Ga blogger.

We also found this perfect condition wall sconce in what I call French blue-- even though I am all about pink I do love this blue color too. It is now hanging outside on the wall of the house on the patio area. I put candles in it last night and it looked so pretty out there.

So July 4th felt more like my birthday this year with all the treasures I brought home.

Laduree and pinkness

Laduree is very popular. You wait on line in all of the locations around Paris. We visited them all!! I think the appeal is several things: good tasting products and sweets are always a hit. The packaging changes somewhat or they do a special series of packaging most recent was Alice in Wonderland and Marie Antoinette style floral. I got the macaroon carrier and will use it for storing little things. It is so different. I love that they change things every few months.

Their window displays are eye catching and the products are quality items and ingredients. I loved shopping at the Laduree in Versailles . We stumbled upon it set in a corner with natural light and a most obliging young man behind the counter. He told me he loves his job working for Laduree in Versailles chateau--who wouldn't? He was very sweet to me and gave me some of the pink ribbon to use for wrapping and I think it is the treasure of this last Paris trip. They do not part with the ribbon freely and he was so kind to give me a few yards. It is so precious to me I will probably use it on a project I dream of doing for Christmas.

I am a bit obsessed with the shops and the products. It is so unique and of course I love the colors. Just a happy place for me to go. The interior shot above is the one in Versailles.

There is a Laduree shop and cart in de Gaulle airport now-- who knew? It is lovely and they are very nice. So if you forgot to get someone a gift or need a few macaroons to tide you over on the flight home you are in luck.

And the winner is....

The winner of the Laduree tea is : Leann !! Please email me your address and I will pop your prize in the post on Monday! I hope you all visited some other Pink Saturday participants yesterday with PINK posts and had a very pink day. Thank you all for participating.

I love to wrap presents and I did bring something back for a friend's child and wrapped it paper that is not really a child's paper but in keeping with the pink gifts inside. I used one of my dried peonies on the bow .It still smells wonderful. I know children love to receive gifts and that they remember when you take the time to make it special or personalize it for them. The pink long item sticking out under the bow is French marshmallow It didn't really fit inside so I made it part of the wrapping.

My now grown godchildren tell me all the time they loved all their presents and wrapping I did for them when were little. It is the small things that often loom large in our memories.

Prettiest pink window of them all Paris style

This delightful image is from the yummy pastry shop near Luxembourg gardens Dalloyau. We stopped here for a bite to eat and again it was a pink window display. This shot from inside the shop is fun. We loved sitting down and watching all the people go by-- it was Fete de Music in Paris that weekend and we could hear music coming from the park.

We could learn a thing or two from the Parisians- -slow down , sit down, ( you rarely, if ever, see a French person walking and eating- it is not done) listen to the music or to the rhythm of the street, eat and relax. I bet the French have a national blood pressure much lower than ours!

Tomorrow is my first blog giveaway and it is a little something I brought back from Paris that you cannot find here ! Check out tomorrow's post and Bon Chance!

Paris is Pink part three

These department store windows also showcase pink and the paper flowers that seem to be everywhere in Paris right now. I hope when I take my upcoming photography class I can learn how to take a window picture without the street glare. No flash was used and still got glare!! But it is sort of pretty anyway. It is funny the one window mentions Father's Day yet still shows only girly items and pink flowers. No fishing tackle or tie for papa in this window!
