I had the pleasure of hosting two of my favorite people for lunch last Sunday in honor of Valentine's Day ( hereafter referred to as Pinkatine Day) lunch. So of course I had to make it pink and there had to be heart desserts, little gifts and what I call girly food!

It was the first time I have been able to use my china that I received as a Pinkmas gift from my girls (my dogs and cats) they are such thought shoppers always finding pretties for Mama.( hmmm) It was fun to dress up the table, use my pretty silver Love Disarmed flatware, and the new little berry dishes for the fruit salad. I hope you enjoyed visiting my Pinkatine lunch.

Have a Pink day!

Today was a little bit cooler and sort of overcast so we did lunch in the garden. I got the cute wheelbarrow at a local shop. I am going to plant the herbs soon along one of the flower beds. I like lots of herbs growing in lots of places.

The bee napkin rings I have had a long time and the lily of valley table topper is also a long ago purchase when I worked at the linen shop.

Willow, Too shop is closing soon lots of great stuff

After the heat of the last two weeks it rained and I ventured out into the shade again.I just got the pink and green plates at a local thrift store they only had 5.

I think the frosted plates look good with the lucite handles on the silverware. My inspiration for this comes from my favorite designer Charlotte Moss.

May 1 is Fete du Muguet in France. A holiday about love and happiness. Street vendors sell the little bunches of lily of the valley and you are to give them to loved ones. I also tie it in with Mother's Day and here is my tribute to mothers and grandmothers table scape. My Mom lives far away so I have created this table to honor her. I know I am late posting it.
I must confess the lily of valley were so expensive I used artificial ones but the lavender is real!
Due to 100 degree days here I had to set it up inside instead of out in the garden. This table is all about love, the little tussie mussie holders are old ones that will be passed along to loved ones. The candle is Virginia by Charlotte Moss I love that scent. My silver sugar dish holds candy.

I used a white table skirt that is lined and interlined--always interline them give it more body and more luxurious . The organza topper is a treasure I bought while working for a French linen company. I love organza toppers. The napkins are from Anna Weatherly. Plates and asparagus boxes and pearl napkin rings all Home Goods this year.

The weather is so mild and the flowers are just bursting open all around my house I can't bear to be inside on days like this. I had some planting to do so why not make it fun?!
Pink pentas and some other little annuals to fill in color areas will not take too long to plant.

In meantime I made a pot of soothing jasmine tea and some strawberry tarts found their way into the house. We had some leftover bunny cookies too--someone bit the ears off before I took the photos! Hmm

Have a Pink day!

Pentas to plan
