Pastries and Paris

Laduree counter in Printemps department store

 Gerard Mulot near our hotel

I thought you may enjoy seeing these pastry photos of our September trip to Paris. I enjoyed all my pastry treats that I ate while there. Of course, my nasty cold kept me for tasting some of them! C'est la vie!
It always amazes me how perfect the pastries are and how they sell out in shop after shop thousands of pastries each day consumed by Paris residents and tourists.
It is one of the things I love about the city the seemingly endless supply of fine pastry.

Paris my sweet Paris

 Laduree at Versailles
Bonjour dear blog readers! I have been to Paris and am back home now. I had a good time in Paris and will have more photos in upcoming posts.
We enjoyed sampling pastries at a variety of Paris pastry shops. Sorry for the blurred photo. I was unlucky and caught a bad cold in Paris half way through the trip so I could not smell or taste any food!! AARRGH!! All that wonderful food and pastry and chocolate and I could not enjoy it. Pink Boy enjoyed it for me.
I was thrilled to see an Angelina pastry shop with their wonderful hot chocolate at Versailles now inside the chateau. There is also a Laduree there on the ground floor.
I now have bronchitis and have not posted in weeks. Still recovering from that awful cold first one I have had in 18 years!!

Miette

Miette has a cookbook out!
I seem to be focused on pastry lately. I used to bake a lot. Now with watching my weight I enjoy looking at it more than I am able to eat it. I just got the Miette cookbook. If you are in San Francisco area stop in to enjoy a delightful bakery.
The book is charming too- well laid out, scalloped edge pages that I adore, basic recipes every pastry maker needs and gorgeous photos of yummy delights.

Of course all the pinkness in the book and the shop appeal to me. They make the best meringues (pale pink tiny droplets of deliciousness) that they package to go.

Have a Pink day!
