White Wednesday and look who arrived

Marie Antoinette is here-- isn't she lovely? I am having fun trying to decide what I should do should I frame her, she is about 7 inches long. I got her on Etsy from Ozma of Odds She fits right into my very pink life and with the British Royal Wedding coming up I thought I may need her advice on what to wear while I watch it on TV-- my invitation must be lost in the mail. Thanks to Kathleen at Faded Charm for hosting the blog party White Wednesday:

Tea with Jane Austen in the garden

Jane would love to have a cup with you!
Tea always refreshes especially when drunk in the garden A treasured book so fun to read
A delicate cup of lilac flowers and butterfly napkins
Chocolate treats adorned with pansies what fun!
Jane would love pink sugar what a novelty that would be for her
I use my silver sugar bowl for candy Just a few of the books I have read by and about Jane Austen

Today I am taking tea with Jane--Jane Austen in book form . How I wish I could time travel and go back and really take tea with her.

Jane Austen loved tea. She mentions it often in her novels and her letters. Tea, in her day, was a social ritual not to be ignored or made light of.

Tea was kept under lock and key and Jane loved a "good" tea and looked for new teas when she went to town.

Harper Lee (author of To Kill a Mockingbird) said "All I want to be is the Jane Austen of south Alabama."Should you be one of the few unfortunate readers to have not read her please correct this immediately-- preferably while sipping tea.

Paris Cafe Flore table

There is nothing like sitting in a Paris cafe dreaming away the hours, people watching, flirting reading, writing poetry.

Of all the things I do gardening seems to give me the most enjoyment and sense of accomplishment. It is often hard, dirty work, sometimes I sneak in plants so Pink Boy doesn't see me planting more "stuff". I have actually gardened in the dark with a big flashlight on to get something in the ground quickly. Now that I am at home (not employed for money) I don't have to dig holes in the dark but I do wish I had more time with friends in my garden. Most everyone works during the day so I am on the bench alone or with one of my dogs. Or White Cat comes by and we sit together. Wishing for more time with loved ones in the garden- - I want to share my little haven of peace and beauty with as many friends as possible. You will see more of the garden and its distinct areas soon. Have a Pink day!

I got the lavender bunny a few years after Easter at Paper Affair on Northside Drive on sale and the bird cage is new from Home Goods. I took it outside so you could see it better.
Why is bunny in a bird cage? That's the way we roll

I am lucky to have three benches scattered around my tiny back garden. I sometimes move them about to be able to enjoy tea in the shade. Since all the trees and rose arbors are not fully leafed out I must move and seek the shade.

Today I am in front of my " white "garden area. Behind the bench are white bleeding hearts, white violas, white snapdragon, white iris and white foxgloves and sweet peas that are almost all ready to pop open. The bench is from TJ Maxx and we repainted it. The cushion is custom.

I am using some of my MA mongram items from my Paris trip last year and many of my Home Goods finds of the last year or so. My lilac bushes are blooming and provided the flowers.

I hope you enjoyed your visit--I love reading all your nice comments. Please come back and visit with me again.
