Garden planning table for this Tablescape Thursday

A table by a sunny window is such a delight in the greyness of winter
Everything is ready for me to begin planning. All china Mariposa

My dear bunny. She is never far away. I love to bring her to the table

I'm ready to have lunch and order some new plants/seeds for the garden

Watering can napkin ring from Boxwoods, pink lucite flatware from Horchow

My little watering can holds my pink pens and pink pencils. Watermelon salt and pepper

Before I have lunch I must look at a few ideas in books and catalogs for inspiration

J'adore English gardening magazines. I save them they are expensive!

Some cabbages for inspiration and to enjoy their soothing green hue

My original garden plan- oh, how it has changed over the years!
Pink polka dot glass a gift from dear Doris in Virginia

Happy Tablescape Thursday!

Well, I do see signs of spring arriving even though temperatures are still very chilly. My white dogwood tree has buds! So today I decided to sit in the sunny front window and work on my garden plans for our spring/summer 2011 garden.

I don't think any gardener is ever"finished" with their garden. I always find some new plant or new way to change things a bit. My garden contains mainly pink or white flowering plants and trees and most everything has a delicious scent.

I've gathered some of my favorite garden books to look through and my Song Sparrow catalog, some new seeds to plant in the potager area and my little silver bunny is watching me and putting her blessing on the selections I make.

I've used my everyday china and placemats since this is just a working lunch for one.

Vous allez a Paris? A trip planning lunch outside

I love to help friends plan their trips especially trips to Paris!
La Tour Eiffel she is beautiful, non? Display piece from Target

Some great guides and books to peruse before visiting

Can-Can plate by Phillippe Deshoulieres one of 6 in a set

Green square from Sweet Olive from Home Goods- Fuchsia charger Lynn Chase

Napkin rings from blog Style Sisters
Le Jacquard Francaise napkins

Each Phillippe Deshoulieres plate has a different scene of Paris

Bon voyage!

A friend just found out she is going to Paris!! It will be her first visit. I've invited her to lunch to help her plan her trip a bit and answer some of her questions. It can be a bit overwhelming the first visit to Europe especially to a country with a different language
It is a mild Spring-like day here about 65 outside and partly sunny. So I got out some of my Paris books, Paris photos and my Paris themed plates for a lunch outside!
Two books I always recommend are Suzy Gershwin's Born to Shop Paris and Patricia Wells Food Lovers Guide to Paris. It is about so much more than food!

Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home

We have been married for over 30 years and we still have date nights! I love to use my pretty place mats and have a little lunch or a treat and surprise Pink Boy.

The plates are a rare Williams Sonoma find. The dinnerware company usually does not make pink plates I think it is Aplico.

I love champagne and I've had these Perrier Jouet glasses forever. They are on the small side but so charming.

We usually have a pink champagne , bien sur, and since chocolate pairs so well with champagne this was a quick romantic treat. I just melted the chocolate over a very, very low heat and then dipped the berries in the pink pearls for extra pinkness--pearls go with everything right?

Have a romantic PINK day!

Thanks for taking a look at my library lunch and please join Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for more tablescapes today:http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/

My library is a cozy spot. I love to sit and read or write poetry and have my lunch there. Not all my rooms are pink. The library is a warm apricot color with white bookcases and ceramic stools with Asian patterns that serve as end tables.

Sometimes a light lunch of sushi prepared by our friend Ferry at Soba restaurant in Marietta Ga is just the thing. I thought I'd have some fun and show you some of my Asian inspired china. Chopsticks in purple liven up the table

Friday I am linking with My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday
http://romantichome.blogspot.com/

We are having some grey, gloomy days lately. The winter grey days make most of us a bit gloomy or depressed. What better way to cheer yourself and others than by having a lovely sweet tea by the fire?

My tea set is one of the first things I bought when we married. It is all hand painted and had all those soft colors I love. It has served me well for over 30 years. The dessert plates I found later but they are an almost match!

Tulips always make me think there is hope for sun again and that spring will be here soon.

I put the tea things on my papier mache coffee table. I bought it in Savannah years ago. I love having tea by the fire especially with friends dear blog reader so join me and
