Puppet Marie Antoinette

My puppet Marie Antoinette arrived today. I purchased her from talented artist Laura Lee  Burch from her Etsy shop here:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/lauraleeburch

She is queen of my closet and will also be used near the Marie Antoinette holiday tree this year. She is perfect down to her blue Habsburg eyes.
She is a felted needle piece.
I love her pink dress and her updo adorned with pearls.

Milk pails and Marie Antoinette

Oh how I wish I could have a Sevres milk pail just like Marie Antoinette!
Have you ever seen such a wonderful beautiful ordinary object that has been transformed into a thing of such beauty?
No ordinary tin milk pail for La Reine, a porcelain one!
Of course, I have no cows or goats to milk so I would use it as a planter or just a pretty object.
Maybe this is why I want a small farm not only to love and care for a handful of sweet animals but to make my little farm sort of in the style of Marie Antoinette. I know if I had a little farm and barn they would have to be pretty.
I think animals know when things are nice. Ha My cats always choose the softest seat or blanket!
Dreaming of a little farm is fun. I think the art by Carol Gillott of Paris Breakfasts blog is just perfect in showing the monarch walking in her garden/ farm dressed more casually.

French Valentine treats

We are so lucky to live near two French pastry shops.
I just bid on this Haviland /limoges bow plate on Ebay and now I am using it to serve treats.
Life is always" pinker" with pastry!
I firmly believe in power of tea and sweets to brighten  a day.

Marie Antoinette Valentine wishes

Oh to be Queen on Valentine's Day!

What fun that would be! Ordering all my favorite cakes and macaron and flowers spilling out of vases and treats for all the pets.

Maybe some new masks for a fancy dress ball in the evening!!
Whee!!!  What fun being a Queen would be!

Pink Valentines

Of course I love Valentine's Day it is a very pinkish holiday!

I enjoy making pink heart boxes embellished with flowers and ribbons and pretending that they would sort of look like what Marie Antoinette would have had.On some of them I have Marie Antoinette peeping out of a frame. the Marie image is from Paper Nosh (on Etsy).
Always pretending to be in the 18th century in my head.

Of course, there was no Eiffel Tower back then so this last box wouldn't fit in.

I save the old candy boxes spray paint them outside with paint from Michael's and then using a glue gun add the flowers or ribbon. Sometimes I glitter the top too after spraying the top with photo mount glue. They can be used for decoration or to hold a little gift.

Pink Boy is taking me to my favorite ballet Sleeping Beauty and to tea in Madison, Georgia in the new (larger) Madison Tea Room. That is so fun to have those things to look forward to when the weather is cold and days are grey.

A Marie Antoinette project

I saw these busts of what appears to be 18th century lady or Marie Antoinette on Etsy or EBay and tried to buy one for my small Marie doll collection, but the lady only sells the pattern -so I bought it. You get an online tutorial with the pattern on how to make the face etc.
I will dress her in Pink, bien sur, she will be my little Marie.
Another doll to put by the Marie Antoinette Pinkmas tree.
I hope I can make her I've never tried anything like this before. I will show the finished version when I get that far. It will probably take me awhile.
