Pinkmas is closer than we think ...time to wrap it up !

You would never guess what goes on in this closet!

We have an extra closet near Pink Boy's office area upstairs. It is off the third bedroom  which we turned into a library.
I do a lot of gift wrapping. It is one of my favorite things to do.
I loved Carolyn Roehm's book on wrapping.
I think a present should be special on the outside.
Plastic tubs and stacking plastic trays are low cost and you can see in them or label them. Being organzied makes wrapping so easy. I need another of the tall gift wrapping paper tubs I collect gift wrap all year long (searching for pinks and white) so I always have something pretty to use for gifts.
Small picture frames, flowers, little quotes printed on stiff paper and glittered all make fun outside interest besides the bow.
I like to use glitter and fake snow on my holiday packages.  Little paper birds or origami also work well as an embellishment.
Only 8 more weekends till Pinkmas!

French gueridon

I've wanted one of these three legged tables called a gueridon in French for years. they were very popular in France during 1700-1800's. It is said that at Versailles there were hundreds of them many wood. Easy to move about.
I finally found a study one that I could afford. Many times they are made of wood or have a marble top and are very expensive. This is more fitting for my living room. It is large enough to hold a glass or appetizers on a small plate.
Pretty and useful my kind of object.Pink Boy put it together in less than 10 minutes.
Are you searching for something to add some zest to your decorating? Searching on line is usually fairly productive. I look for images of what I want first then they lead me to the seller or store.
Some other variations below some are antiques.

Souffle-Marie and the tiara portrait

 Her photo I used
 14 x 14 canvas
I love this canvas I got from Costco--all of it done on line no going into the store. You upload a photo and choose a canvas print size and in less than a week I got this 14 x 14 inch portrait.
I may frame it. Not sure where she will go just yet. I am thinking of doing one of each cat same size and hanging one above the other.
It is not expensive either and it would make a great gift for the holidays. I do not get anything from Costco for promoting this.
I'm just serving it up as a potential gift idea. Pinkmas is only 2 months away!

Pinkness all around

I see so much beautiful pinkness all around --on the blogs,on shopping sites, in gardens. I delight in it all.
Love pink clothing if it is stylish and well made, Love pink decorating if it does not go too far and become suffocating.
Pink just brings a lightness and femininity to things, rooms, etc.
I love the Ted Baker bow bags, the wonderful Nina Ricci macarons who wouldn't?

Potting bench in the potager area

I mentioned to Pink Boy a few weeks ago that I would love a potting bench. It would help organize area behind our fences where we have the potager garden.
He didn't want to make one so we looked on line and found this one . He then sanded it and painted it Charleston Green, a color on historic register and still used on homes and fences in Charleston today. It is a mixture of green and black paints.
It will be fun to pot plants and make labels and start seedlings on the potting bench. Another pink living pretty and useful item. I am going to make him move those ugly buckets on the bottom.! ha

To Audrey with Love

Hubert de Givenchy has a new book coming out --just in time for Pinkmas!
(Are you reading this Pink Boy?) It has many of Givenchy's fashion drawings for Audrey Hepburn (the person his name is most associated with) and other Hollywood notables. Audrey had style and Givenchy has talent a winning combination in the fashion world.
Their friendship and style collaborations lasted 30 years
Looks like a lovely, stylish book and it is Pink ! It is like an artist love letter to her. I cant wait to see it.
Santa are you reading this?

Hello Kitty in the air

Taiwan airline Eva has Hello Kitty planes! And a new route opening up Oct 8th from Paris to Taipei. I love their pink aprons and the bento-box like Hello Kitty meal. Even the headrest covers are adorable.
I however, have many questions:
I wonder if any men will fly on that plane? Does the engine purr? Do landing paws lower near the runway? Is there a huge litter box at the end of the designated Hello Kitty runway? What is the puffy green Hello Kitty head in the upper right of the lunch box? Marshmallow, a formed sugar loaf? Ayone know? Have any of you had the Hello Kitty plane experience yet? Can you bring your cat on board? Can you keep the pillow covers?
Hello Kitty is not a cat I read on line recently. I don't want to think about that too much--in my mind she is a cat.
Anyone want to go to Taipei?

Laduree is calling me

I am obsessed with Laduree. I love the desserts, the packaging , the store fronts, the ribbon, the window displays!
I save all the boxes and ribbons that I get. I love their eclairs, and St Honore dessert. Pink Boy loves the salted carmel macaron and most other flavors as well. I am always missing Laduree and Paris.
Laduree is a happy place for me-- people have tea and dessert or a light lunch. I even like the ones in the department stores they are smaller but still lovely and quiet. A tea salon is a good spot to escape to from the crowded streets.
I love that they change up packaging and desserts with the seasons. I wish we had a Laduree in Atlanta area I think it would be a hit! I will have to wait till our New York trip in December to visit Laduree. I plan on going to both locations to compare them.

Pinkmas is getting closer

I like to add new elements to my Pinkmas decor each year. I love these pink mercury glass trees and tree  toppers. I had a pale pink glittered nutcracker made last year and will probably add a larger one this year as well.
I like to begin planning my additions early.
If anyone sees these for sale anyplace let me know. I think Michael's had them a few years ago.
 I'm always thinking of Pinkmas!
