Love your vanity area

This pretty vanity tray from Ebay is perfect to hold my little porcelain containers that hold jewelry that I wear often.
Keeping a vanity neat makes getting ready so much faster and less stressful. I am lucky to have a large area to work with but hate for it to be too cluttered.
I like to use vases to hold make up brushes. Old candle glass containers make nice holders for make up pencils or Q tips. Love the pink bows--so me!

Pale pink office

If I had an office I think this is what I would like it to look like! Serene yet feminine. Love the bookcase.I think people are more productive when they are in pretty surroundings. It shows your employer cares about you.

Scandal style... steal Olivia's style

Scandal style
Scandal is back on air and we are all wondering how Olivia Pope will get along now that she has fled D.C. and  almost as important, what she will wear where ever it is she ends up!
One reason I began watching the series was  I enjoyed the clothing and have always admired Kerry Washington as an actress and as a classy lady. She keeps her private life private, does her job well and lends a hand to charities that she believes in.
On the show she wears some pretty pricey outfits and while it is fun to see it is also a bit frustrating not being able to afford those coats and cute suits!
Along comes the show's designer Lyn Paolo and The Limited clothing store chain and now we have some lovely renditions of Olivia style that the average woman can purchase.I love the colors in the collection.
Miss Washington worked with Lyn Paolo and the team from The Limited in creating the styles. There are 70 some pieces to the collection.
Maybe I will wear my new Scandal inspired skirt while watching the team "fix" a political problem.

Wasanbon-Japanese candy

I just learned about this type of Japanese candy. Do any of my Japanese blog readers know where I can purchase this type of molded candy in the United States? I learned it is made from a different type of sugar than that which is normally used for candy in Japan.  love the shapes.
I would love to try it.
Anyone who knows about it please contact me thru this blog. Until  make it to Japan I have to have fun with my little hobbies and Japanese art.

Roses jumping up in the air

We are sliding into fall here in the South. I thought I would share these pink rose photos before we all turn toward the maple leaves and pumpkins and fall colors.
I love roses on arches they seem to be jumping up toward the sky.

I love roses climbing a wall or drifting over a fence. I love roses framing a window or climbing the stairs.
I love pink roses any way at all.

When you are feeling blue...

We all have our down days. Maybe not feeling too well, maybe sad about some event or loss. I perk myself up with enjoying pretty images, happy music, and counting all the wonderful friends and blessings in my life.
How do you cheer yourself?

French painting fragments

 Fragonard The Pursuit
 Francois Drouais
 Mary Elisabeth de France
Natttier The Spring

I love 18th Century French paintings and love these little fragments . So intriguing and it is enjoyable to focus on just a small part of a work. It makes you realize how perfect these works are --so much beauty in each little area.

A pretty parasol please

I want to bring back the parasol as a means of sun protection and fashion accessory . I think I watch so many period movies and the women have them and they are in Asian art a lot that my mind is seeped in parasols. Why not carry one especially at the garden party, outdoor wedding, sunny picnic or garden tour? Make a fashion splash, be stylish and protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays. A two in one amazing accessory.

French apartment of Joan Rivers

I think she had prettiest terrace in NY city

Like many fans I have been so sad about the sudden death of Joan Rivers. She had so much energy and was such an interesting person that it is hard to grasp that she is gone.I think she had amazing drive and stamina especially for someone 81 years old. I loved watching her on QVC years ago and I bought some of her jewelry early on and still enjoy it. She copied from expensive vintage jewelry that she owned or had seen in London.  She was a kind person despite her on stage persona and she did a lot of charity work and helped new comics get a start. I think she was also a very loyal friend and a great mother and grandmother.
Her NY apartment is a work of art in my opinion. It is in the Spencer condo at East 62 ST and is 5200 square feet of wonderful!
She was into building her brand before we even had that term-- she had show business, fashion business and her books.
Here is a great link to see more detail:

She had great style in fashion and the apartment is work of art. I wish she had written a book about putting her apartment together the history of it and the fabulous furniture she collected. Wish I had a spare 29 million to snap it up when it goes on the market. That is not including furniture. Knowing  her spirit as a long time fan, I bet the contents will be auctioned off at Christy's and a lot of it donated to the charities she supported.
I think we will remember her for her wit and style
